The Program Planning Committee invites you to participate actively in this congress which will be an extraordinary occasion for the exchange of knowledge and experiences. We look forward to receiving abstracts for consideration and inclusion in the program as oral or poster presentations.
The abstract submission is only possible online. Abstracts submitted by fax or mail will not be accepted.

Registration to the congress is compulsory to be able to present the abstract and must be completed byÂ the early bird registration deadline, December 18, 2019. One author cannot submit more than 1 abstract but can be co-author in other abstracts.
The abstract,Â not exceeding 2500 characters including spaces and punctuation, must be written in English and structured in the following five specified subtitles: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion(s) and References.
Please submit your abstract within one of the following topics:
- Surgery and wound healing
- Structural and Functional testing
- Medical treatment and Non-Incisional Surgery
- Epidemiology, quality of life and health economics
- Laboratory sciences
- IOP physiology and pathophysiology
- Genetics, genomics and biomarkers
All abstracts received by the indicated deadline will be evaluated by the Program Planning Committee. Acceptance, together with technical details for presentation (oral or poster), will be notified only to the submitting author by early December, 2018.
After a great start at WGC-2017, we continue with Poster Walks. The posters that are accepted will be divided into sessions and displayed in a large area at the congress center. A Poster Walk moderator walks with interested delegates along the poster panels within their poster session topic.Â The poster author should prepare a brief presentation and be ready to answer questions (no PPT possibilities).
Rapid Fire Sessions
The abstracts that are reviewed with the highest score, will be presented during one of the Rapid Fire Sessions.
The WGA offers grants to ophthalmologists and residents under forty years of age from economically underprivileged countries. Furthermore, the following conditions must be met to qualify for a travel grant:
- An accepted abstract is required
- Applicant must be from a country listedÂ here
- A CV and a letter must be sent by email (firstname.lastname@example.org), explaining the special interest in glaucoma and how participation would benefit the professional goals of the applicant by December 3, 2018 latest
